A few weeks ago I joined Splash Speaker. As I use many traffic exchanges I am always looking for the newest and most innovative tools to get my message across. Kudos, to Simon Kelly and Splash Speaker!
There are several programs out there that now allow you to create splash pages on the fly. But there is no other program that I know of that makes them “SPEAK“.
Introducing, “Splash Speaker”. Splash Speaker is more than just a splash page creator. It is a fully functional, automated, completely-hosted, splash page advertising system that does things that no other system can do.
Check these features out:
Splash Page Wizard – A walk through wizard that guides you every step of the way.
Use Your Own Code - Yes, you can upload your current splash page code and adapt it into the system.
Upload Images – Upload your photo and other images to customize your to speaking splash page.
Text To Speech – his technology allows you to choose a voice from the system that will read your page.
Use Flow Through Tags - You can actually use tags that will grab the site name, members name and more so you can target the individual.
Fully Hosted – Save your bandwidth and use theirs.
URL Rotator – Allows you to track views, clicks and ratios for each of your pages.
How much would you have to pay a programmer to add speech technology to your current splash pages?
There is so much you can accomplish with this program. After testing; it has actually increased my responses by 30%! That may not sound like a lot, but 30 more visitors to my site for every 10o splash page views to me is very significant. I will take every competitive advantage I can get…what about you? Do you want the competitive edge that will create more sales?
Take a quick look at this very simple splash page I created for this blog. It took me about 8 minutes. Click Here To View
I know I’m not the greatest graphics person…but there is so much you can do with this program. I can not tell you how much you should be using this tool.
Yesterday was yet another Saturday afternoon spent at the Affiliate Funnel Webinar Room. I was honored that Paul Kinder, owner of AF asked me to speak about “Strategic Marketing and Responsive Traffic” and SMART Goal setting.
Having a business plan and setting; specific, measurable, attainable, relative and time sensitive goals is the most important step in successful internet marketing business. Almost 90% of all businesses fail within the first year due to improper planning and under capitalization.
This holds true or those marketing on the internet. The vast majority o your competitors are NOT planning nor are they using proper goal setting techniques. As one individual in attendance at the webinar put it, and I can not say it any better is that, “Proper goal setting is easy to learn, but it takes a life time to master.”
I have included in this post a copy of the online presentation fro yesterday. If you want to learn a little more about goal setting, this presentation will help you get started in the right direction.
The all new TE Browser officially launched yesterday. This post is not about promoting this browser nor is it anyway about the traffic exchanges that can be used with the browser. I started using the browser yesterday and did so again this morning up until I decided I was going to write this post.
Many surfers today use FireFox while surfing because of the great tab capabilities and faster loading times. I must admit TE Browser does take this to a new level, less the speed as I found it very slow. TE Browser is currently compatible with 50 Traffic Exchanges. When you first install the browser software you can input your login information for the exchanges you belong to and join the ones you don’t belong to.
Another nice feature is that you can promote the TE Browser and your referrals can join any exchange they are not a member of and you get the referral. So it is a great downline builder. You can also setup your own groups of exchanges and save them, as well as many other nice options.
Here is where I begin to have a problem. Once you have your group loaded and you begin surfing, let’s just say 5 exchanges you can click the “Power Surf” button. What happens is; as each page is loaded it will automatically switch to the exchange that is ready for you to verify the image code. Well, this sounds absolutely great; if you are a surfer.
What is the definition of a manual surf exchange?
A Manual Surf Traffic Exchange is basically a very simple concept. Individuals join the exchange for one reason; to “exchange traffic” with other members. You surf and view other exchange member ad pages, and in exchange they look at your ad pages. Wow, know wonder they came up with the term, “Traffic Exchange”.
What is the definition of an “Auto-Surf” exchange?
According to Wikipedia, autosurf is a form of advertisement that automatically rotates ads in one’s internet browser. The word automatically should give you a clue.
I personally stopped using auto-surfs over a year ago. Why? The reason is very simple. I logged in one time, then I went in the other room and watched a movie. When the movie was over I came back to see how many credits I had earned, which was several hundred. I then thought to myself… if I can earn all those credits and never look at a page, then how many other people are doing the same thing? My sites had absolutely NO GUARANTEE that they would ever be seen at all. Now I am not here to say whether auto-surfs are good or bad, some people like them. I just don’t spend my hard earned advertising dollars some where that I can not have some assurance that my ads will ever be seen.
Here is description of the browser as described on the website:
The tabs are automatically switched between TEs bringing the last loaded TE in front of your eyes ready for you to check the site and click the verification image to continue surfing. After you click the verification image the tab is switched to the next loaded TE. And so on… You don’t need to switch the tabs manually like you have to do in other browsers; like Mozilla Firefox or Internet Explorer.
Now, I can’t really think of a manual traffic exchange that allows you or wants its members to use bots, software or other forms of circumventing the manual part required to earn credits. If they do find out most will ban you, as I have people for attempting to do justthat. Isn’t that why they have anti-cheat features?
I am not saying that the TE Browser is a form of cheating, but what I am saying is that I nor you can any longer have that assurance that our ad will be seen. I know what people are saying, and I had this discussion with a friend of mine last night. He said, “Bruce, it’s really no different than when a group of exchanges hold a “Power Surf”. I told him you are absolutely right. However, during that “Power Surf” they may not be reading my ad as much as they were before, but they still have to manually click from tab to tab.
From a surfers point of view I love to “Power Surf”…why? Because I earn more credits in a faster period of time by surfing 3 to 5 exchanges at the same time. From a surfers point of view, I could get to love the new TE Browser.
In addition, as a traffic exchange owner I could get to love it also. Why? Because more of my members credits are being used up at a faster pace. Which either forces them to surf more or PURCHASE MORE CREDITS!
Now, as an advertiser I could get to hate it very fast! Why? Because my credits, which are basically advertising dollars are being wasted. Think about it for a minute. If you are a business owner and you have a marketing budget you need to decide how and where to spend that money to get the greatest return on your investment. Are you going to advertise in a place where you have no assurance at all that your ad will ever be seen; or would you be willing to pay a few extra dollars to be assured that people are at least going to see it?
Personally, I want my ad seen by as many people as possible.
Remember exchange owners are business owners and I am one of them. We do want to get as many people surfing as possible and we do want credits to be used. If they are not used the exchange is dead. On the other hand, is there any fiduciary duty of the owners to look out for the best interest of the advertisers?
These are all questions you need to ask yourself if you are earning or attempting to earn a living online either as an affiliate marketer or by selling your own products and services.
If I know that TE’s I belong to are getting ready to have a “Power Surf”, and I have credits there I will pause my websites. Why? Because I know exactly what the surfers are doing at that time, they have all five exchanges open at the same time and are going from one tab to another. I mean let’s be real people, we have all done it. The thing is we are manually having to do it.
The TE Browser is — Automatic — the same word used in the definition of auto-surfs. Hmmm…this is a fine line and I think worth discussion.
I would really like to know what you think? Please make your comments and vote on the poll below.
I had to come back and make an edit this post. As I want to make something clear. The owners of the site are great people and are exchange owners themselves. The product is very well thought out and has may great features. The whole question is what has it done?
Lastly, and this is my personal opinion. I would like to see a small programming change in the browser. That is simply that it not “Automatically” switch the tbs as the timers run out. At that point it is FF on steroids!
If there’s one characteristic that defines a good internet marketer, it’s adaptability. The online marketing world moves so fast — faster than any other industry around — and those that make their fortunes online always move faster than anyone else. From the arbitrage heydays to the modern era of CPA affiliate products, top internet marketers are always looking a step ahead, and are always looking for the ultimate advantage.
There’s one aspect of internet marketing that attracts its fair share of controversy and discussion. It’s link cloaking, of course, and the discussion is around whether it’s really necessary for affiliates. For those who don’t know, link cloaking is simply a visual disguising of affiliate links, leading the URL to appear as an in-site page, when in reality it’s an outbound link. Why is this so important to affiliates? Well, let’s have a look.
To begin with, link cloaking is important for affiliates that make most of their sales through blogs and personal recommendations. A large portion of affiliates, particularly those who operate large scale online companies, keep a personal or professional blog. While it’s rarely their major income source, most affiliates occasionally use promotional links on their blog. The problem is that many readers are instantly skeptical of what they view as paid recommendations. Whenever they mouse over a link’s anchor text and see an affiliate code, they back away and don’t make a sale.
This is where link cloaking can help with a direct sale. Rather than having readers shy away from a great product, link cloaking can help marketers direct reader to the product. When they see an inbound link with a domain that they trust, they’re sold. All that’s standing between them and the sale is the quality of the product itself.
Secondly, link cloaking is essential for certain marketing channels. While Google Adwords has often been a favorite for affiliates, they’ve recently changed their policies and appear to be taking a harder stance on affiliate products, particularly those with unclear conditions and slightly misleading terms. While this isn’t a problem for most affiliates — the majority of whom promote products that fall well inside the terms and conditions — some affiliates are having trouble getting their PPC ads to show, after being struck with a poor quality score.
This is where link cloaking can again save the day. Rather than having a direct link leading to an affiliate page, direct-to-offer PPC advertisers can cloak their links and have them redirect through their own server. This isn’t just perfect for avoiding the infamous Google slap, but also for adding tracking data and inter-offer landing pages.
There’s a third, top secret, advantage to using link cloaking. While most affiliate websites offer long-term cookies, few will cover multiple products. With the right strategy, you could incorporate multiple affiliate links into a single cloaking redirect, leaving you with the potential to earn twice as many commissions per clicker. Alongside the other great benefits of link cloaking, this really sweetens the deal, and makes link cloaking an absolutely essential practice for serious affiliates, full-time internet marketers, and dedicated online entrepreneurs.
